It is pretty fast for me to realize this. The rumor and leaked images have hit Modaco about a week ago, but now the manufacturer has come with the official announcement. Voila, bravo HTC! So this new HTC Touch series is claimed to be a really perfect device for customers who are passionate about mobile entertainment. Well, at least that’s what this Taiwan-based manufacturer said on their own official website.

But to be honest, they might be correct with that one, especially when we take a deep look into its features including 5MP camera, 3.5mm audio jack, large 3.8 inch display screen, TouchFLO 3D UI, and one thing they need not to mention it though; it comes without keypad! The last may seems to be funny, but actually it is not.

HTC Touch HD camera

As far as I know, 5MP is the biggest camera resolution that HTC has offered to its customers via its smartphone line up products to date. Just for your information, both famous previous HTC Touch series, Touch Diamond and Touch Pro have only 3.2MP on their side. Besides that 5MP, HTC has also packed this candybar smartphone with auto focus and just like always, a VGA-class camera for its secondary camera. However, I encourage all photo lovers to check LG KC910 or Samsung INNOV8 first if what they really need is just the megapixel.

HTC Touch HD screen

This part is the answer why would HTC called its new latest Touch series as “HD”. This term is used to refer Touch HD WVGA screen resolution that is able to reach 480 x 800 pixels, the maximum resolution a Windows Mobile handset can get. To make it compact, HTC has put that resolution into a large 3,8 inch display screen. With this screen dimension, it could be the smartphone with largest display screen ever. Of course, only before the launch of rumored ASUS Galxy7 Zest, the same Windows Mobile smartphone with WVGA screen too.

And don’t forget about that lovely 3.5mm audio jack. Music lovers should feel very happy with this stuff since they will have more chances to use earphone that suit with them best rather than stick with the one they’ll get from HTC Touch HD itself.

HTC Touch HD Price and Availability

HTC hasn’t declared any information on its price but they have planned to ship it to European carriers in Q4 this year. Based on this statement, chances are that HTC will sell it in locked version. The same classic selling model it’s used to have with its previous handsets. Finally, other region should wait longer for this. I believe that would be a month or even less than that.
